A Gluten-Free Holiday 2011

It’s the second year of sharing gluten-free recipes to celebrate the holiday season!

How?
With a weekly themed link-up event and fabulous cookbook give-aways.

Why?
The holidays are stressful enough without worrying whether your gluten-free pie crust or your Apple Spice Cake will turn out. We want to make this season as easy as possible by sharing our favorite kitchen tested gluten-free recipes.

We?
Yes, we. Me and 5 of my dearest gluten-free blogging friends.

And, of course you!  If you weren’t there it just wouldn’t be a holiday celebration.

Here’s the scoop….
On Thursdays in November and December, a different gluten-free blogger will host a link-up event where you can share your best gluten-free holiday dishes and browse for recipes to add to your menu.

Every week we’ll have a give-away, too. You can link up or leave a comment to enter.

I’d love for you to share our Gluten-Free Holiday Badge on your website! Just grab the code underneath the button in my sidebar.

Dates & Themes:

November 3rd – Healthier Through The Holidays at Simply Sugar & Gluten-Free
With cookies and rich meals all around during the holiday season, it’s smart to think about how to stay healthy. Bring your favorite healthier dish to SS&GF. Or, share your secrets for maintaining your sanity and health during the holiday hustle and bustle.

November 10th – Thanksgiving Favorites at Cook It Allergy Free
Share your favorite gluten-free Thanksgiving dish from appetizers to desserts at Kim’s lovely blog. We want to see your stuffing, turkey dishes, pumpkin pie, mashed potatoes, cranberry jelly…anything Thanksgiving goes. (To our Canadian friends – please share your Thanksgiving dishes, too!  We know you celebrated earlier than the US!)

November 17th – Edible Gifts at Taste at Tasty Eats at Home
This is my very favorite week of the event. There’s nothing that says love like a gift from the kitchen. Share your top tips for making treats to give, along with how you package them too!

December 1st – Holiday Entrees & Sides  Dishes at Daily Bites
Bring your family’s favorite entrees and sides for Christmas and Hanukkah. We want to see the savory dishes your family loves the most. Or, experiment with a new recipe and bring it to Hallie’s.

December 8th – Holiday Breakfast & Brunch at Diet, Dessert, and Dogs
Some of my fondest Christmas memories are of the breakfast my Mom prepared Christmas morning. We all nibbled on fresh cinnamon rolls and winter fruit while opening gifts.  Help someone else find the perfect dish for their holiday breakfast or brunch.
December 15th – Holiday Desserts at She Let Them Eat Cake
Just like it sounds – bring Maggie your favorite gluten-free dessert for all to share.  Cookies, pies, truffles, cakes, and candies….we want to try them all.

What now?
Get your recipe box and cookbooks out.  Start browsing…then get in the kitchen and start cooking for the best ever gluten-free holiday!

I SO look forward to all of the holiday recipes posted each year! I've been a follower for quite some time, and just love all the recipes I find on your site, even though I haven't had the chance to try them all. I just mixed up a batch of one of your basic flour blends, and used it this past weekend for a pumpkin bundt recipe. It turned out delicious! I grabbed your holiday badge for my site :-) Thanks for all you do for gluten free living, Amy! Also, best of luck to you and your husband with your soon-to-be new addition to your family! :-)

Sweet! I've been a follower of yours for a bit, and I'll try to participate. I'm new to food blogging (and healthy eating, ha), and it's been hard to blog about healthy stuff with the Halloween (my favorite and least healthy food holiday). Maybe this will inspire me to be healthier.

Hello. I am searching for a great recipe for healthy, gluten free & sugar free pumpkin spice cupcakes for my Halloween party. I am familiar with Pamela's baking mixes, which are excellent! I have followed the gluten free lifestyle for many years and I've now been cutting out sugar, something I should've done a long time ago. Better late than never! If anyone has a really great pumpkin spice cupcake recipe with cream cheese frosting, please share! Thank you so much!

@Benea, I made the mummy cupcakes for the halloween party and they were an absolute hit! Thank you so much for sharing! I also made some pumpkin loaf cupcakes with the whipped cream cheese frosting, and those were amazing too!
