Last Friday was our five year wedding anniversary. The week before, Joe and I decided that ‘Happy Anniversary’ was enough this year. Our lives have been so full with Luke, Nate, work, and a myriad of things. I set up for The Gluten & Allergen-Free Expo the night of our anniversary and worked the show all weekend. By Sunday evening I was in desperate need of rest. Luke isn’t sleeping through the night yet so those long days at the show were tougher than I’d anticipated.
I am grateful that our marriage can sustain periods like this, when life is so full that there isn’t room for anything but the day-in, day-out necessities. We’re going to carve out some time for ourselves this weekend, though. My mom and sister are visiting so we might just get to leave the house without kids, even if it’s just to go to Costco.
